What’s the best way to get a musty smoke smell out of a bookcase that has been in a basement for many months?

Jamus asked:
We just picked up a wooden book case from my girlfriend’s father’s basement. He smokes, has two cats, and his basement generally has a musty smell to it. The wood just absorbed the air; there’s no mold or anything. We brought it back to the apartment, and I was hoping that the scent would just kind of clear up. Is there any way to speed this process along?

The sun for few days.
If you strip it, sand it, and re-stain or paint it, you’ll have it “like new,” but there’s no real way to speed up the process, as far as I know. Wood is porous, of course, so it absorbed all the funk in your gf’s dad’s basement, so you’ve got to fight to get it back to funk-free. Good luck!!
Bookcase especially good if cabinet doors that good really really recommend it you can close use this product called fridge and fragrances that you can buy it on your bookcase especially good really recommend it it on cat litter box and only couple of dollars.
