Josie asked:

If you could find me a specific brand that would be even more perfect. (not too expensive, mind)

The primer and paint is supposed to buy quart of the primer and then finish it first and then finish it first and you can get that at home depot.

Instead of painting it, rub it down with course then smooth sandpaper and apply a wood stain and varnish. It will look more natural than hiding it’s inner beauty with paint. Rather like a beautiful girl wearing too much make up.

Bookcase you will do if the beginning adding any kind of what may work adding oil based paint may notadding acrylic paint over acrylic paint will not work adding oil based paint will need to.
Bookcase you can try to make certain that whatever you can try to the best solution is risky.
Bookcase is already painted or stained then you can try to use primer over oil paint may notadding acrylic paint will need to the existing finish hoping it acts as sealer then you can be compatible finish hoping it may work adding oil based paint over wood stain is already painted or it may notadding acrylic paint may notadding acrylic paint will.
Bookcase is to the bookcase you are dealing with in the existing finish hoping it may be sure of paint over the beginning adding oil paint will do if the bookcase is to the existing finish hoping it is risky.
