Tailored bookcase?

I have recently rented a new apartment and have a large empty wall (3mt high - 5mt wide) that I want to fill completely with a bookcase. None of the pre-assembled products I see on the market is flexible enough to cover completely the wall. Short of having a carpenter cut one that is tailored for me (it is awfully expensive), what could I do?

Are you aware of companies selling good quality, simple, and not necessarily pre-assembled (I can do the work) bookcase systems that can be tailored to the space one has?
