Where can I buy the wood and have it cut to my dimensions. This is a DIY project. I live in NYC, Far Rockaway. Any suggestions.

The day many hardware stores like home depot will cut wood to look good it yourself.

Don’t buy cheap tools. They will do cheap work and may even cause you personal injury.
Spend the money and buy high quality tools. Some ‘box stores’ may even rent the higher cost stuff like power mitre saws, table saws, & etc.
