I have an IKEA bookcase and small-sized entertainment center that I bought years ago. I’m moving and want to bring them with me but their colors just don’t go with my new decor. Is there a way to paint them so that they look decent?? Would love to paint them a dark cherry color but not sure if I can - or if I should.

   The surface lightly with sand paper you want.
