MGen asked:

Does anyone know how to make or whee there are instructions on how to make a bookcase that covers an entire wall and goes from the floor tothe ceiling? I’ve seen it in magazines before. It looks like an entire wall covered in square cubic shelves.

I did cabinetmaking for a while, first measure up your wall, that’s the height from floor to ceiling and then you have to work out the depth which is what you want from the front of your bookshelf to the wall (back). It’s hard to explain…draw up a plan of what you want your bookshelf to look like and whether you want adjustable shelves (ones that you can remove or adjust the height) fo fixed. To explain would take forever but maybe these websites could help you a bit.

draw a plan for what u want it to look like. measure the space to see how long shelving should be. u could use 1″x12″ boards for the shelves and the supports so it looks like cubes. measure a tall book to let u know the spacing between the shelves. i would put supports between the shelves at least every 18″ to make them sturdy enough to handle the weight. use 2″x4″ against the wall to attach the bookshelf to the wall and to set & support the shelves or if you don’t want it attached use plyboard as the backing. if u go to home depot or lowes they will help u plan it out and help u figure out how much materials to buy. good luck
