Your Home Office Furniture Doesn’T Have To Be Dull!
Filed Under bookcases | Comments Off
Daniel Marcus Manson asked:
You’ve come home after a long day at the office but you know you’ve still got work to be done. You look around at your home office furniture and the level of comfort is just not what you are used when you compare it to what you have at your office each day. You could sit back and try to pull your work together, but you’re uncomfortable and you know that you’d be able to get much more done if you could just “feel” as comfortable as you do at your office each day. Whether your home is a basic setup and you have a minimalist style or your desire a more urban or contemporary approach, there is more furniture to fit your design than you could ever imagine.
The styles are only the beginning of what you can choose from. Office furniture is just another extension of who you are, so color and functionality are also important to you. If you are coordinating with some of your other furniture in your work space or home office, you may need a different color to set it apart. You will find everything from black mixed with steel accents to lighter wood colors mixed with dark hardware. You can find what you are looking for and for an excellent price! You don’t have to wait for weeks for your furniture to arrive either! There are many different packages available and ready to be shipped within 24 hours!
In addition to desks, there is much more office furniture to choose from! If you have to extend your desk, add a bookcase or if you need to find a file cabinet to match your existing furniture grouping, you can will, and it doesn’t have to stop there either! Many home offices need a large table for meetings and lunches, and to further compliment the room, couple that with large, comfortable chairs, and you’ll have a set-up that will rival many small business offices!

Home Design Sense - Home Office

H John Johnsen asked:
Home Office Design can offer everything from a computer desk to space saving ideas for smaller spaces. With a wide range of finishes there will be furniture to fit in with your existing decor to suit your budget.
Choosing the best room to situate a home office also depends on your type of home business. If your activities require daytime phone calls operating in the same time zone you can easily operate from the living or a dining room; unless you have children. Hen you will need a room that is set away from the noise.
Organization of office space is far more than merely desks, files and equipment. It is also how the organization complements the type of business and office purpose. You can create a home office as pleasing to the eye as it is practical.
Custom lighting, window treatments and floor mats add the finishing touches to a great workplace. Custom home office furniture means that you are not limited to pre-fab dimensions or colors you don’t want. There is a wide range of colors and finishes of melamines, laminates and veneers.
The lighting should be adequate for your particular vision. So; be sure to have enough light to see what you are viewing. Also; keep looking away from the computer now and again to give your eyes the necessary rest they need. And; use a wrist rest for the keyboard to help prevent carpal tunnel. Of course; most new keyboards already have wrist rests attached.
Be creative a build a unit with two bookcases and attach a desk top in-between or use a free-standing desk. Use bi-fold doors, a folding screen or drapery panels to conceal the desk area. Built-ins may be too expensive, and computer armoires won’t be a good investment because they usually don’t contain enough work surface. A modular office-furniture system, which typically includes desks, computer tables, bookshelves, and file cabinets, is the most affordable option.
Glass and ceramic jars work well for pens and pencils. For personal papers, mail, stationery and magazines, use magazine holders in a color that ties in with the surrounding decor. Add pictures or business posers to the walls so he office area doesn’t appear to stark and un-inviting.
Look in your garage to see if there’s an underutilized area to store extra supplies. Low cost copiers and fax machines, sometimes integrated into an all in one machine with a flatbed scanner and color printer, have enabled the home office to become an efficient and productive place to work. Many of us can now work at home part of the time, and save commuting time and energy costs in the bargain!
Above all; dress like a professional. If you dress like you are hanging out at a gym you will be tempted to lounge around and not get much done. You are in a work environment and will be tempted to take a break and watch some TV. Remember; you can’t do those things when working in a business building. So why would you do it when you have your own business? You shouldn’t. Be professional at all times when working in your office. Dressing in work clothes creates a professional atmosphere.

Choosing a Pine Bookcase
Filed Under bookcases | Comments Off
jamiehanson asked:
Have a home? Interested in reading book, or in showing off that you love to read? Then having bookcases is the perfect answer. These bookcases are great to add value to the overall furniture of the house. Many people these days are opting for bookcases but not all know what looks good and what not and so end up having a bookcase that does not match the overall look of the house and so becomes an eyesore instead of being a crowd puller. So the first thing to understand is that bookcases are there to hold books first and then any and every other article. People make a great bookcase and then fill it with CDs, Photo Albums, music player etc. This rubs the shine of the bookcase. Thus first fill the case with books and then if the design and space provides for space, fill other things. Now with the main thing under belt, lets talk about the bookcase itself. The bookcase needs to look great, stylish, neat and also spacious! To get the look hardwood, pine, birch or maple are used. Among them pinewood accounts for one third of all the bookcases all over the world. The pine bookcase offers advantages like no other wood does. The pine bookcase fits the bill perfectly and is very user friendly in terms of making the shelves, the drawers or the cabinets. Pine bookcases amongst all of the pine furniture has something different to offer and that is that it fits the bill of antique and chic at the same time and so the old generation people will also approve of the and also the young generation. This pine bookcase will let you go one-man up among all your family and friends. The pine furniture offers great stability and is very durable and lasts upwards of 15 years and so once built you can have a very long relief before you would have to build a new one. The pine bookcase is not exception and it offers to hold books for ages and it can be passed along with the books as heritage. The bookcase can be made in any and every design you wish like the tall shelves or the open shelves, you can opt to make it symmetrical or asymmetrical, it is your drawing board and you are free to draw. The textures that can be used are innumerable and that is the beauty of pine furniture, it allows the user the freedom of choice. Pine bookcases are very smart way to add more volume into the room, be it the bedroom, the kitchen, the office or the hall. The bookcase can also be doubled up as a showcase, where all the trophies, certificates, etc. can be shown, alongside the books of course. Pine being a hard and termite resistant wood, the books are safe inside, but it is always advisable to use the treated quality. So go ahead and get the thinking cap on and design your own pine bookcase and either make it yourself or get a professional do the job.

Who Puts the Person in Personal?
Filed Under bookcases | Comments Off
Knight Pierce Hirst asked:
Jean-Jacques Attisso, a 31-year-old French entrepreneur, combined his advertising skills with cans made by a client and created Obama Soda. It’s a bubblegum-tasting soft drink in a red and blue can that features Obama’s picture and “Yes We Can” slogan. The soda isn’t available in markets. Attisso uses it to inspire kids living in some of France’s poorest, mostly black, housing projects. He tells them Obama’s story, reminding them that 50 years ago blacks in America road in the back of buses and now President Obama rides in limousines. Attisso is putting the can in “Yes We Can”.
Shirley Corriher, a food scientist, puts the “Yes We Can” into making cookies. In her book “Bakewise: The Hows and Whys of Successful Baking” there’s a tip to prevent cookies from crumbling. According to Corriher, a tablespoon of water should be added to a cup of the flour used in making the cookies. The 2 proteins in flour – glutenin and gliadin – hold onto the water and make strong elastic sheets of gluten. It’s the gluten that holds the cookies together. This tip could be a tasteful way of removing the phrase “That’s how the cookie crumbles” from the English language.
Jim Shafer’s language is architecture. He designs houses with interior wood paneling, stainless steel kitchens and built-in bookcases - but he thinks small. The smallest house he’s designed is 65 square feet and the largest is a 3-bedroom mansion of 774 square feet. What Shafer describes as practical living allowed him to trade the rat race for peace of mind. He lives comfortably on $15,000 a year in a 100-square-foot house, is mortgage free, has purged his life of unnecessary things and does what he loves. Maybe Shafer should advertise his houses as being too small for big problems.
Amal Suleiman overcame cultural problems to become the first female wedding registrar in the Muslim world. Because her husband’s uncle had held the position in an area outside Cairo, her husband suggested she apply for it. Suleiman overcame local male resistance by taking her case to the head of the provincial family court and was accepted along with 10 male applicants. After being chosen the most qualified, her name was sent to Cairo for approval. After several months and some prodding by a local columnist for the Minister of Justice’s approval, Suleiman’s appointment was announced – and still echoes throughout that very conservative society.

Phoenix movers - Moving tips and loading your rental truck

Frontier Apt Movers asked:
Hello! We are Frontier Apt Movers. We are professional movers in Phoenix and our Phoenix movers are well known for the skills we use on a daily bases. We will give you a few ideas how to load a truck and hope you get the idea. If you want to read other articles or moving and packing tips please check out one of our websites at http://www.gotmove.com
Assuming you have already rented a truck with a square box. If you rented a truck with a shelf area in the front then it shouldn’t be a big deal to stuff it full with misc. items. The idea is to make a flat even area to work with so fill it up. We recommend you begin with your sofas and loveseats. Place them standing up tall in the corners with the feet to the side walls and the back of the sofas touching the front wall this will give you another area to fill but it will be worth it. Please read on.
You may use a chest of drawers, couple of night stands or a big screen TV, to place between them just don’t let it stick out further than the sofas. You want to build a flat surface again. It’s called building a tier.
You can use all of your stuffy items in between to finish filling it up. For example, bags of clothes, light boxes, duffle bags, rolled up rugs, etc. Once that is pretty full you will need to use your largest mattress and box springs to lock the load and make it a flat tier again. Now you need base or tall items such as bookcases, armoires, etc. Here is where you need to make sure whatever tier you are working on will need to be pretty close to the same size. You really can’t stack a lot on top of tall bookcases so they get their own tier.
Now you are working on building your next tier. You can use a dresser or chest of drawers for base. Now you can stack boxes on them. You can use items such as office chairs or kitchen chairs to top off that tier. Nightstands are typically the same depth and can be used for base in the same tier. You may also stand dressers up on end but be sure to lay a blanket or cardboard under it to protect it.
You will be working your way to the end of the truck but somewhere along the load you will need to start tapering the tier down if you are not filling it to maximum capacity. You will want to load any appliances last such as washing machines, water coolers, refrigerators, etc.
If you find this to be somewhat helpful you can visit our website http://www.frontieraptmovers.com We have a lot of useful moving information that you could benefit from and make your move much more stressful. If you don’t feel comfortable loading your rental truck alone we are professional movers. Give us a call for a free no obligation quote. 623-374-5696
