can you divide a room with bookcases safely?

I have turned my 2 car garage into an office. Now my teenage son wants part of the office as his room. Can we line bookcases up to divide the room and if so how should we secure them so that they dont fall over?

      Bookcases should be bolted to the top of course most garages are not heatedcooled.
