Rising Star asked:

I just recently got a new bookcase. It’s almost three feet tall and a little over two feet wide and I was wondering, will my bookcase will be able to support my T.V. if it’s on top of the bookcase? My Television weighs almost 50 pounds. The wood of the boards of the bookcase is not lumber-like wood, it’s wood pulp that’s compressed together and the top board is bolted into the side boards. Any answers you can give I will be very appreciated.

For the long haul these shelves are rated for short period but will warp over time under load.
